CASTLE ROAD COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY 100 CLUB LOTTERY
The CRCA CIC 100 Club Lottery is licenced by Portsmouth City Council for willing participants who are prepared to have a bit of a flutter to support their Association and Castle Road. The CRCA AGM on 30 May 2024 approved the Lottery and rules, which are detailed below.
Players buy numbered tickets costing £2 each that will be entered into a monthly draw; 100 tickets will be available, hence the name. Full rules are detailed below.
Players (members or friends of the CRCA) pay a £2 monthly subscription per number, with 50% of the proceeds each month being paid out in prizes and 50% going to the CRCA to help deliver the annual work plan. If all 100 numbers are sold there will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes of £50, £30 and £20 with £100 going to the CRCA each month. In December 100% of income will be paid out in prizes.
To take part in the 100 Club Lottery, please return the attached application form and set up a standing order with your bank to pay the CRCA CIC bank account number 30698286, sort code 52-30-04 on the twentieth of each month.
The first prize draw will take place on Monday 7th October 2024. To be included in the first draw, standing order payments must have been received by 20th September 2024.
The prize draw will be made using a random number generator on the first Monday of each month. During the week before there will be a check to verify payments have been received by all players in the draw. Payments to winners will be made promptly by bank transfer.
Licensing
There is no specific legal definition in the Gambling Act for a 100 Club Lottery. These Clubs exist to promote lotteries for a ‘good cause’ (lotteries cannot be run for private or commercial gain). 100 Clubs are small in scale and operate under the rules of a ‘small society lottery’, with registration through the Council.
The CRCA applied for and was granted a licence on 21 May 2024, which has been renewed in 2025 and 2026.
